Sony clarifies PlayStation 5 will not be launched in October 2020

A recent job listing had recently claimed that Sony is all set to launch its much awaited PlayStation 5 in October, 2020. The news came as a ray of good news for the PS lovers, but it was short lived. The Company has come out with a clarification that has stated that the PS5 will not be released in October, 2020. Sony also added that they not just know about the release date, but are not even sure about a release window. This means that people will have to wait for a little more while to know when the console will be launched.

The job listing in question was created for a position at Sony Interactive Entertainment and was posted on a Japan based recruitment website. The listing had then mentioned that the PS 5 will be launched in October, and this was the first time it was mentioned that the console will be launched soon. It was also the first mention about the month when the console will be launched. When the Japanese publication was contacted on who had stated about the information, it said that it was mentioned due to an error and was given out by the recruitment company that was in question.

Sony in recent times has been given out information about thePS5 and the games that will be launched. It was just a few weeks back, when the DualSense 5 was revealed and it was also mentioned that the official controller with new functionalities for games would be able to take advantage of it. Sony had also revealed about PlayStation Studios that will be a new brand and will be collecting all of its exclusives under one roof.

On the other hand, its competitor, Microsoft has already revealed its new console known as the Xbox Series X. The company hosts monthly streams to promote its new console. It had first showcased third-party games which will be launched with the new hardware.
