Going by the hints being dropped by Microsoft it seems like the much awaited Surface Duo is expected to be launched very soon. The Surface Duo is one of the few devices that could attract the interest of the smartphone enthusiasts with the help of its dual screen. The best news is that the pre-orders of the device has started on August 12, 2020 and has a starting price of $1,399. The Android based device is all set to be officially launched on September 10, 2020.
The gadget watchers did not expect the Surface Duo to be launched so soon but the quick launch seems pretty justifiable as this is the peak season when Apple too is likely to come up with its own devices in the market. In 2019, the Apple iPhone 11 was also launched on September 10, 2020. Talking about the Surface Duo , it has two screens with a 360 degree hinge which has hinted that it could be a device that could be used as a normal smartphone or could be held as a booklet.
The two screens could also be opened up to resemble a tablet. The users can also use a single screen as a stand on a table. Microsoft is also intending to use the similar tech for the larger Surface Neo, which is a portable PC that will run Windows app, but is delayed to 2021. But the upcoming Duo device is expected to be a more interesting device since it marks the return of the software giant with its smartphone hardware. Its earlier Windows Phone had vanished due to lack of popularity and an increase in competition.
The Duo will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB RAM and will begin with 128 GB Storage. It has two 5.6 inch AMOLED screens with a resolution of 1,800 X 1,350 each and together they form a 8.1 inch display but will have the hinge in the middle.
