Software giant Microsoft is now preparing to give a new visual look to its Windows Operating System. The age old Windows 95 era icons will soon have a refreshed look and will come with improved icons. The software giant had already started to make improvements with Windows 10 as a part of the Sweeping visual rejuvenation which is planned for later in 2021. Even in the month of March, 2021 new system icons were noticed with Folder, Recycle Bin, File Explorer, disk drive icons and more.
Right now the software giant is planning to refresh the Windows 95 icons that users might still come across in Windows 10. Apart from the above items, there were new icons that were also noticed for networking, memory, floppy drives, hibernation mode and others as a part of the shell32.dll file which was seen in the preview version of Windows 10. For those who do not know what DLL is, it is an important part of the Windows Shell that helps to surface the icons in a number of dialog boxes in the entire operating system.
This is another reason, why the Windows icons have remained inconsistent all these years. It can also be noticed that the company had revamped other parts of the OS only so that the older apps could be thrown in to the dialog box. Such improvements also help in improving the consistency of Windows . The new changes are expected to be seen in the Windows 10 21 H2 update which is expected to be seen in the month of October, 2021.
So far the software giant has revealed some new system icons for Windows 10 that include the File Explorer icon improvements, Windows 10 icons which are more colorful and were seen in 2020. Another major feature will be the rounded corners apart from the changes in the built-in apps and the Start Menu.
