Instant messaging giant WhatsApp has never disappointed its users and has taken a note about every feedback from the users and constantly made sure that it introduces new features to keep the users engaged and stay firm in the stiff competition. The giant is now launching a fresh ability that will allow the users to react to a message with an emoji. It is similar to the feature that can be seen on Instagram messages. Apart from that the users can not share files that are up to 2GB in size, which is a huge progress from the earlier 100 MB Limit.
Meta had talked about these features last month and had assured that they would soon be launched. Now it seems like the wait is over. The company also made an announcement that it would double the maximum size of the group chats. When Meta had first announced about the reactions to the messages, the company had clarified that only a few would be available for use in the initial stages and that more emojis and skin-tones would be added in the future. The feature of reactions to messages has been available on other apps like Insagram, Slack and Telegram. It allows the users to give a reaction to a message without the need to clog the group chat.
WhatsApp is also ready to expand its maximum size of group chats and the cap would go from 256 to 512. The blog post by the company has mentioned that the larger groups would slowly be launched. The emoji reactions and increased file-size limits would soon be available in the current version of the app.
Vispi Bhopti, the spokesperson at Meta while talking to a leading daily said that the reactions with emojis feature would be rolled out in about a week. The spokesperson added that the feature is already available to some of the users. The new feature on WhatsApp will certainly make the messaging app competitive in the space.
