US-based book retailer Barnes and Noble has announced that it will cut the prices of the Nook HD and the Nook HD + tablets. The recent offer has been announced in order to celebrate the Get Reading festival, which will be held on July 13, 2013 in Trafalgar Square in London. However, buyers must keep in mind that the offer is valid for a limited time only and will see the price of the Nook HD drop to £99 for the 8 GB version and the 9-inch Nook HD + will start at £149 for the 16 GB version.
The price changes were announced by the company on July 3, 2013 and will be applicable both online and in stores and will make the Nook HD tablets even more compelling. Jim Hilt, managing director of Barnes & Noble said, “To celebrate the free Get Reading festival and to help make digital reading more affordable across the UK, we have reduced prices on our award-winning Nook HD and Nook HD+ tablets for a limited time”.
The director went on to say that they are committed to promote the cause of literacy and hope that families from UK come to the Get Reading festival on July 13, 2013 for a fantastic day full of events.
