In one of the latest posts on its official support pages, US-based carrier Sprint revealed that it will be releasing the Android 4.4 Kit Kat update for Samsung’s Galaxy S4. The company’s confirmation of the Kit Kat update roll out comes after some leaked documents were shared by tech website Android Central on February 12, 2014.
The document mentioned that the KitKat update for the Galaxy S4 will be rolled out from February 13, 2014. Samsung’s flagship handset’s KitKat version for the Sprint Network is JDQ39. L720VPUFNAE. Meanwhile, the over-the-air KitKat update for the Sprint Galaxy S4 is set to be rolled out in a phased manner. This means that it might take a while for all users of the Sprint Galaxy S4 to get their official update.
Users who are not interested in waiting for the automatic prompt to the upcoming update will have the option to prompt it manually. In order to get the manual prompt of the update, users will have to access Settings General About device Software update on their handsets.
Following the availability of the Kit Kat update for the Sprint Galaxy S4 users, it is hinted that the update for Galaxy S4 users on other networks might be on its way. It is speculated that AT&T might soon be ready to release its own update for the handset.
