Samsung in recent times has received a blow from the smartphone market as it marked poor sales due to various reasons like competition and complaints from devices. However, the South Korean giant has now geared up to bring back its position in the market and has launched a new attractive flip phone, the SM – G9298. Flip phones might have gone out of fashion in the west, but they are still popular in some Asian countries.
Samsung has launched the all new SM – G9298 flip phone for the Chinese market. The device has a dual display and is made from airplane grade aluminum alloy with a 4.2 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display on the inside as well as the outside of the device. The smartphone also comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage.
Other features of the SM – G9298 include 12 mega pixel rear snapper and a 1 mega pixel front camera for taking selfies, with a 2,300 mAh battery. The device also supports wireless charging. The SM- G9298 weighs 235 grams and comes with a T9 keyboard which will remind users of the early 2000!. It has an Android operating system with new features like S Voice, Samsung Pay and other Android Nougat tit bits. Some of the connectivity options of the device include 4G connectivity, micro USB, USB 2.0, NFC, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi Fi and GPS.
The device looks attractive in black but will be launches only in China for now. If Samsung decides to launch the SM- G9298 in other Asian markets as well, there are possibilities that the company might be able to recover it’s strong hold in the smartphone market. The company is yet to announce the price of the device and it will be made available as a CDMA device in collaboration with China Mobile.
