Microsoft launched the first Lumia device without the Nokia brand name, with Microsoft Lumia 535.
It is finally official, with the launch of the Microsoft Lumia 535. Technology giant Microsoft has officially unveiled the first Lumia smartphone that will not be carrying the Nokia brand name. With the Microsoft Lumia 535, the company is targeting the lower end of the market with the low price. The Lumia 535 will retail for only $135.
In April 2014, Microsoft had bought Nokia’s mobile business in a $7.2 billion deal. While Microsoft Mobile managed the Lumia business, they had agreed to keep the Nokia tag on the phone, which they have now decided to phase out. The news of this marketing change came a month ago when Nokia France put up a Facebook post that mentioned that it would be changing its name to Microsoft.
Since last week, there have been leaked images on the internet that have also given the specs of the device. When Microsoft unveiled the new Lumia 535, there were not too many surprises since it had already come out in the public through various websites.
