During his first interview after pulling the app from Apple and Android app stores in February 2014, Nguyen Ha Dong says that he now feels a sense of relief. The creator was also asked if there are any chances that the game will be brought back again, to which he replied that he is considering it. The developer is not working on a new version of the game, but if a sequel was in the works then it would come with a warning for users to “please take a break”.

With the help of the 2D retro-style graphics, Flappy Bird became wildly popular and gamers used to try to direct a flying bird between the oncoming sets of pipes without even touching them. The 28-year-old developer announced on the social networking site Twitter that he was about to take the game down in February 2014, after which ten million people downloaded it in just 22 hours.

The creator went on to say that he used to get upset when he heard that people failed exams and lose jobs because they were playing the game too much.
