Chinese tech giant Huawei has faced a lot in recent years after being shunted by the U.S. sanctions. Despite the odds the company launched its mid-range Nova 9 smartphone for the overseas market on October 21, 2021. The smartphone has been launched in the European market. Huawei had earlier largely depended on the Google services, but the U.S. Sanctions that were imposed during the Trump administration, crippled its business and prevented the company from using any of the US based technology.

But that did not stop the company from moving on. The Nova 9 mid-range smartphone was earlier launched in the local Chinese market and is a 4G device. It has some features that can be found on high-end smartphones. The device has a four-camera set up with wide-angle lens along with software that helps while taking pictures. The Nova 9 has a 6.57 inch display, fast charging technology and is paired with its Android-based operating system known as EMUI 12 that was launched after it was prevented from using any of the US based tech, which us also used by some of the rivals including Samsung. Huawei had also developed Harmony OS after had faced the grunt of the US sanctions.

This also means that the Nova 9 will not be having any of the Google services. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 778G by Qualcomm contrary to the fact that it has used its self-designed Kirin chips for its earlier handsets. It is due to the US sanctions that has prevented the company from using Kirin chips as they are also based on the American technology. It was in 2020 when the US based company Qualcomm had got a license from Washington to sell some of the 4G mobile chips to Huawei.

Huawei was once the world’s number one mobile phone player in the market, but its business was affected due to the US sanctions.
