HTC announces Desire 600 smartphone

Smartphone manufacturer HTC has officially announced the availability of its Desire 600. The smartphone is the second device from the company to come with the updated Sense user-interface, which was introduced with HTC One. HTC released a press statement, saying that it will be available in Russia, Ukraine and a few countries in Asia and Middle East at the beginning of June 2013.

HTC Desire 600 is a dual-SIM device with dual-active support and GSM+GSM connectivity. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor and has an operating system Android 4.1. The phone also comes with 1 GB of RAM and 4.5-inch Super LCD 2 qHD display. HTC has pre-loaded the new Sense user-interface on the phone and it features BlinkFeed content stream.

Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation said, “People rely on their smartphones every day to be their news channel, email inbox, social network and music player”. Chou went on to say that the HTC Desire 600 dual SIM combines speed and easy multitasking with the truly innovative HTC BlinkFeed home screen.

CEO also said that the company made a mid-range, affordable phone which will set a standard in its class. So far, there is no word on its pricing in Europe, North America or other Asian countries.
