Taiwan-based electronics manufacturer Foxconn now wants to decrease its dependence on Apple and wants to add new customers on its list. One of the executives from the company, on the condition of anonymity, said that the company is taking a big leap in developing its own line of accessories, which will also be compatible to Apple products.
In recent times, the company noticed that its profit percentage fell down during the first quarter of 2013. On the other hand, 2.9 percent increase in the company profit was still reported. This decrease in income corresponds with Apple’s first reported decrease in profits in about 10 years. Many have said that Apple is accountable for 50 percent of Foxconn’s income.
The executive also went on to say that the company is planning to provide all components for the devices that it develops. Right now, companies like Apple purchase their gears from many different retailers and then send it to Foxconn to have it assembled into a finished product.
Apart from having manufacturing plans, the Taiwanese company is also looking to sell its own line of accessories, which will include headphones, keyboards and cables that will be compatible with iPhones and iPads.
