American software giant Microsoft is all set to launch the Surface 2 tablet in the UK market with 4G mobile connectivity. Customers in the UK will be able to pre-order the device ahead its launch on May 8, 2014.
The tablet launch was announced on April 10, 2014 and explained to customers that they can pre-order their device from the Microsoft Store as of 9 am on April 9, 2014. Microsoft said, “Surface 2 (4G) comes with a micro-SIM card slot and ability to connect across multiple cellular networks up to 4G LTE, in addition to Wi-Fi capabilities, allowing you get online on the go.”
The Windows RT tablet will feature 64 GB of internal memory and will cost £539. This means that buyers have to pay an additional £100 compared to the standard model in order to use 4G mobile broadband connectivity. On the other hand, potential customers might be happy to know that the device comes with free Skype calling for a year, as well as 200 GB of free Onedrive storage. However, it can be noted that these benefits are also available with the Wi-Fi-only version of the tablet.
The company said that after the launch of the device on May 8, 2014, it will be available to order from retailers.
