Samsung is one of the popular smartphone manufacturing giants and gadget enthusiasts as always are eager to know what the game plan of the South Korean giant would be amidst the lockdown situation. In recent times, a lot of speculations were made about how Samsung is going to release its new smartphones amidst the crisis. Samsung is expected to launch the new Galaxy S and the Note series it was also expected to launch the new foldable device. For the time being, the company has said that it will be launching its new Note and foldable phones later in 2020.
During the announcement of the Q1 earnings, the company like other companies said that there is surely uncertainty as they do not know that would be the outcome of the pandemic and how would be the consumer behavior. At that time it had mentioned that it will be releasing the new and foldable Galaxy Note models during the second half of 2020. The announcement by the company had come amidst the reports that there has been a crisis in terms of the supply chains. Jong-min Lee, the Electronics director at Samsung said that they are preparing their new Note along with the new Foldable that will be launched as per schedule.
Lee added that they are preparing to launch a device that will be more competitive. It is predicted that it will be the Note 20 series and also a sequel to the Galaxy Fold that was released in 2019 and did not see much takers due to the price and also due to its delicateness. Samsung had surely struggled with its Foldable device but it has pledged that it will continue to bring forward a promising and a durable product.
Looking at the overall smartphone market, it is predicted that the consumers might not be in a position to upgrade their current handsets as the economy tries to recover from the ongoing pandemic.
