Washing hands frequently has become the need of time. People might not have had this habit before, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, one of the measures to avoid the spread of the coronavirus is by washing hands frequently. People might have already got used to it now, but what if a technology comes up to help you validate the practice and make it much more accurate. Samsung has come up with an application which has been designed for some of its wearable devices like the Watches and Gears.

The new application is known as the Hand Wash app that reminds the users to wash their hands at regular intervals throughout the day. A study that was conducted by the University College London in 2020 has found that washing hands six to ten times a day is essential to avoid the virus and apart from that washing hands is also mandatory after using the washroom and before eating your meals.

The applications sets off an alarm every two hours but the users can also make changes according to their convenience. When the user is near the sink, they have to just swipe the device and it will begin a 25 second counter, under which five seconds is to apply the soap and 20 seconds is for scrubbing. But then the users might be worried about the water splashes on the device, this is a reminder that all the Galaxy Watches are waterproof so you do not have to take them off while washing. The app not just has the hand washing feature but also has a number of data and tracking functions.

The additional features will help the user to track the number of times they are washing their hands on an everyday basis and it will also show them a weekly average figure. Washing hands is a very simple activity, but it has become very important due to the pandemic situation across the globe.
