The coronavirus lockdowns were imposed in a number of nations across the globe as a safety measure. While people stayed indoors to stay safe, entertainment was the source that helps them to remain sane. The digital and OTT platforms all of a sudden faced a boom due to a sudden increase in demand. While many turned towards the digital content online, there is still a crowd who likes to be old-school and preferred owning the media in physical form. They are mostly DVDs and Blu-ray discs that require a dedicated player. In recent times, many users of Samsung Blu-ray players reported that they are not able to use their players.

The users are all of a sudden not able to use the devices and have also not got a solution for it yet. This is happening with a number of Wi-Fi connected Blu-ray and DVD players. Some have reported that the Samsung BD-J5700 devices are not working while some say that they have experienced on the HJ-4500 entertainment systems. All the users of the device have said that they were able to use it earlier but are suddenly blocked from it.

One of the common issue that has been reported is that the player reboots itself after a few seconds and that causes a non-stop boot loop. Other users have said that they are hearing noises as if the players are reading empty disc slots. Most of the users have complained that the button presses and the remote controls are not responding.

Some people are blaming the new firmware update while some have blamed it on the expired SSL security certificate in the firmware. On the other hand Samsung has not yet responded on the issue, may be due to the reason that it happened during the weekend. The condition is surely global and the company might soon respond to the complaints and the unexpected shut down of the devices.
