South Korean giant Samsung has set the stage to announce the much awaited Galaxy Z Fold 2 on September 1, 2020. The company will be revealing all the specifications and pricing of the smartphone. Before the event actually kicks off, Samsung UK has listed the Z Fold2 at a retail price of £1,799 and will be available in black and Mystic Bronze and September 17, 2020 is expected to be the shipping date and the actual sales are expected to be open the very next day on September 18, 2020.

The surprising thing here is that the new Z Fold2 is £100 less compared to the earlier device of the Galaxy Fold which was priced at a whopping price tag of £1,900. Even the European price of the new Z Fold 2 is expected to have a price cut of £100. It is expected to begin at €1,999. There is also going to be a Thom Browne edition Z Fold2 but the pricing and the availability has not been revealed yet. Samsung announced the Z Fold2 on August 5, 2020 but had then not talked about its release date or its pricing.

It is still not known if it would have a lower price tag for the US market. For now it cannot be said if the new Z Fold2 device would be making up for all the shortcomings of the previous Fold. But it surely seems that the new foldable device by Samsung would have some improvements. The Z Fold2 has an ultra thin glass screen which is expected to be more durable than the plastic screen that was found on the earlier version. It has a 6.2 outer screen which is bigger than the small one on the first Fold and even the inner display is larger at 7.6 inches.

Still it would be wise to wait for an actual reveal on September 1, 2020, when the audience will get to know what the phone looks like.
