Users of Google Pixel 3 and 3XL complain of sound issues

The Google Pixel 3 and the 3XL are one of the most popular smartphones from the series. Some of the users of the smartphones have experienced a few irritating issues with their respective devices in terms of audio and sound quality. Many of the online user forums on Reddit and Google Forums have talked about problems that are related to the receiving end of the call and have said that the audio cuts in and out, echoes or sounds are notably sharp and tinny.

The users have also said that the audio delays where words lag and then stack up on top of one another. Such problems occur when calls are made to both smartphones and landlines. The Pixel 3 and 3XL are Google’s flagship devices and serve as the company’s ultimate take on the mobile operating system, Android, which is the most popular operating system in the world. In February 2018, research firm IDC had estimated that Google shipped 3.9 million original Pixel and Pixel 2 phones in 2017.

A leading daily said that a few of such reports originated back in November and were escalated by Pixel community member. Some solutions were offered that included rebooting to Safe Mode and a factory reset but they do not appear to fix the issues entirely. However, this is not the first time the Pixel phones has faced such kind of issues. Even in 2017, several users had complained of microphone problems with the first Pixel and Google had then cited that it was due to a hardware issue.

It has not been known how many smartphones were affected with the issue but such problems can be indeed annoying for the users who actually experience it. Search engine giant Google was not immediately available for a comment. Such issues might be minor but can prove to be a big blow amidst the already saturated smartphone market and existing competition.
