Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has forced the Pokemon Go Fest to go online. The annual event will now be held online from July 25 to July 26, 2020. On a regular basis, the event used to be held in some of the selected cities across the globe and allows the players to meet at physical locations like it would be a large park and play the popular AR game. The first Pokemon Go Fest was held in Chicago in 2017 as it celebrated the first anniversary of the game.

Now that the event has gone online, this will be the first time when the attendees of the Pokemon GO fest will be allowed to attend both the days of the event. Earlier the players were only allowed to attend only one of the two days. This year the event has become virtual and Niantic is planning to increase the number of tickets available.
Michael Steranka, the director of marketing and global events at Niantic in a blog post said that since the event has now become global, they are making efforts to make maximum tickets available for the Trainers. Niantic is yet to give a detail about what the two day festival would be like and what will be included in the event.

Pokemon GO is a augmented reality game that has the players involved in an outdoor physical presence. But now due to the pandemic most of the people are at home as it is the need of time to remain indoors, the company has adapted by adding limited time as well as remote-friendly features like the virtual raids. This will allow the fans to have fun and it will also be fun to watch the virtual monsters on their smartphones. The game was launched in 2016 and is available for iOS and Android devices and makes use of the GPS feature of the smartphone to capture, locate and battle.
