Chinese application TikTok is one of the popular instant video making software across the globe. But in recent times it has faced a tough time from a number of countries for its content and for the place of its origin. Social networking giant Facebook has launched a new short video app, Instagram Reels. It is a new Instagram feature that will allow the users to record and edit a 15 second video with audio. The users will also be able to add visual effects.

Instagram has called the product as Reels that the users will be able to share it with followers in a dedicated section known as Reels in Explore. They can also share it in the Story feature where the post will disappear after 24 hours of posting. The feature is similar to the feature that is found on Snapchat and WhatsApp. This could be a part of the company’s answer to the competition, but Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had to face some tough questions about Facebook’s habit of copying rivals.

It was in 2018 when Facebook had launched the TikTok competitor known as Lasso but that was shut down in July. Later the social networking giant also tried its hand in a service that was similar to that of Snapchat and called it Slingshot and Poke before Instagram Stories had kicked off. The fact was that imitating features of Snapchat proved to be a success for Instagram, for the reason, that some of the new users of Snapchat could not actually figure out its abilities and they had already got used to Instagram.

At the same time TikTok is popular as it has a very easy user interface and is easier than Instagram. One of the most convenient feature of it is that the users can just sit back and scroll endlessly with just swipes. The users can just scroll without the need to follow anyone or post anything.
