There are a number of instant messaging services in the market and most of them are popular due to the features that they offer. WhatsApp isone such popular service and it keeps updating the app to keep the users engaged by offering new features on a regular basis. Telegram is now ready to upgrade its messaging app and will soon be adding the auto-deleting of messages feature. Apart from that the company will also be adding some of the features like new unlimited groups and expiring invite links.
The information on the new features was shared by the company in a blog post. It was during the privacy policy phase of WhatsApp when Telegram had gained a lot of users. Now that it has a number of users, the company is introducing some of the features which are already a part of the competitors. The new features will offer more privacy and security. Not many are aware that the auto-deleting messages feature was already a part of the encrypted Secret Chats of Telegram. But the new update for Android and iOS will make the messages disappear in any kids of chats.
The feature has to be enabled which is possible inside the chat. The users will have an option to set the auto-delete feature in either 24 hours or even seven days after the messages have been sent. The feature will not be deleting every message. If a message was sent before enabling the auto-delete feature, the message will remain there. Competitors like WhatsApp also have similar features. Signal has been having a similar feature since 2016.
Telegram is also looking forward to make changes in its groups and it could allow informative, immediate and audio experiences. There will be a Broadcast Group which will be able to have unlimited number of members. Telegram is also launching expiring invite links that would expire after some time.
