It was in 2020 when OnePlus had launched OnePlus 8 Pro that had become the first model to support wireless charging. The feature was added by adding a 30 watt Warp charger. The upcoming news is more exciting as it has been said that the new OnePlus 9 will be accompanied by a 50 watts wireless charger which would mean that the charging speed would be faster than before.
Some of the earlier reports had claimed that the OnePlus 9 Pro will be featuring a 45 watt wireless charger. A report from a frequent leaker had mentioned that the device would be launched with a premium wireless charger that would be sold separately just like how it was done with the last model. It has also been said that the OnePlus 9 Pro and the 9 device will be supporting Qi wireless. But only the non-Pro versions will not be having the higher charging speeds.
It was just a few days after the initial leaks, OnePlus had released a video that had showed the 9 Pro charging wirelessly against the iPhone on a lightening cable and went from 1 percent to a full battery in just 43 minutes. It was also confirmed in a forum that the next generation version of the Warp wireless charger will make use of 50 watts. It is also combined with a battery that as two chambers and adjustments for the induction coil and will be charging at double the speeds when compared to the 8 Pro.
OnePlus surely has a faster charger when compared to the 20 watt adaptor of the iPhone 12. But it has been expected that the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro will have an increased wireless charging of at least 65 watts which would means that the full charging from 1 to 100 percent would take nearly 29 minutes. So far there have been a number of leaks of both the devices.
