It was in the month of March, 2021 when OnePlus had launched the much awaited OnePlus Watch at the event where it revealed the OnePlus 9 series. The new smartwatch by the Chinese giant featured a premium design along with a greater battery life and a great performance. Although the device was much awaited, it was not having some of the important features that a premium device was expected to have. Due to this the maiden attempt by OnePlus in terms of smartwatches plunged.
But the company assured that it would make up for the shortcomings with the help of future software updates. The Chinese giant has now started to rollout one of the updates for the smartwatch. These two features should have been available from the beginning but have been introduced in a software update. The fresh update had started to rollout for just a few users earlier this week. The announcement posts on the OnePlus Community forum mentioned that the fresh update includes an Always-on Display support, Marathon Workout mode, a remote control camera function and a few other improvements.
As per the OTA update, the fresh update for the OnePlus Watch is expected to reach only to a limited number of people at the initial stage. Later the company will be confirming that the update does not have any major issues and will then be rolled out to the rest of the users. The update is known as the B.48 update and will include improvement of the optimize system UI details and fixture of some of the issues and an improves system stability.
It has to be noted that with the Always-on display feature, it is surely going to affect the battery life of the device and will reduce the battery life to nearly half. Users who are having the OTA update on their OnePlus devices have to make sure that they have at least 40 percent of the battery life before they install the update.
