Gone are the days when Samsung’s launch dates were pretty predictable. But ever since the pandemic, things have been going a little off. As per the recent reports, Samsung is likely to launch its Galaxy S22 on February 8, 2022. As per Korean news outlets, the company is planning to host an event that will see the launch of the Galaxy S22 series on February 8, 2022. The news outlet has claimed that Samsung has confirmed the news and the event has called as the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 that will be held virtually.
The invitations for the event are expected to be sent later this month and it is not clear if there would be an in-person component at the launch. There are all the chances that the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2022 event would allow an in-person reveal. The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022 is expected to be held from February 28 to March 3, 2022. The event will be held despite the omicron scare. The company will be opening pre-orders of the Galaxy S22, S22+ and the S22 Ultra from February 9, 2022 and the sales would begin from February 24, 2022.
The South Korean giant is yet to confirm about any details of the upcoming smartphone. However the pricing, design and specifications have been speculated a number of times in the past. It is expected that the Galaxy S22 could come with a price tag of $799 and would be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and with Exynos variant for some of the markets.
In terms of specifications, the device could have a number of camera units with camera modules on the rear. The Ultra variant is expected to be the premium of the line-up and could have a quad rear camera unit. However, these are all speculations and the actual specifications are expected to be unveiled at the event.
