The team of Google Drive revealed on January 14, 2014 that they have introduced a brand new feature, which will make it easier for users to be aware of the changes being made to shared documents. The new feature is known as Activity Stream and the search engine giant says that it will become available to all users during the upcoming week.
This means that users might have to wait for a few days before they can start using the latest feature. There is a new button at the top right corner of the screen which will allow people to access the new activity stream. The latest feature will keep an eye on edits, uploads, changed file names, comments, new spreadsheets, who the file is shared with and much more.
The activity stream will also offer an option to select certain files and folders and this way, users will be able to monitor what they are interested in more easily. However, this kind of a feature is not entirely new, as the rival cloud storage services – such as Dropbox – are already offering something similar. Regardless of that, the new feature is definitely a welcome addition to Drive.
This will be useful for people who use Google Drive to collaborate on projects. The search engine has been adding features to Drive in order to make it easier to use.
