Instant messaging service WhatsApp has constant addressed the user’s concerns over privacy. Many of the users always had the fear that the messages that are sent privately could be published in public and that could be a good infringement to the privacy. WhatsApp now has come up with a solution in this age when things could also be cancelled. Messages on WhatsApp could soon disappear after a short span of time.
The feature is known as ‘deleting messages’ and could be rolled out soon. This means that the users can now send messages without having the worry that they could be misused by bullies. However, the concept of auto-deleting of messages is not original and was first seen on Snapchat, after there was a concern when some of the users were using the app for sending obscene content. Social networking giant then introduced the feature on Instagram and now it is all set to be introduced on WhatsApp.
A report by a leading daily has mentioned that the feature might soon be rolled out and will be released very soon. The users will have the power to select if they want to make the messages disappear in an hour, day, week, a month or a year. Originally the feature was known as ‘disappearing messages’ but then it was renamed as ‘deleting messages’. The feature will be able to work on group chats and may be even on the individual conversations as well.
WhatsApp recently also introduced a new privacy feature that stops the users being pulled to a group that they do not wish to participate in. The feature was rolled out to a limited number of people and was gradually rolled out to all the users. People can now choose who can add them to groups and allows you to block people who you want to avoid and even some of the annoying friends.
