With the CES 2022 just concluded, Apple is already planning to hold its first virtual event of 2022. Speculations are high as per Mark Gurman from Bloomberg that the Cupertino based iPhone manufacturer might hold an event in March or April 2022 when it will be announcing its iPhone SE model with 5G connectivity. Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter has mentioned that Apple could hold the first virtual event of 2022. It was at the beginning of the pandemic in April 2020 that the company had mentioned about the current iPhone SE.
The upcoming event in March/April, Gurman has said that the focus could remain on the new iPhone SE. As per the reports from the sources like Ming-Chi Kuo, the upcoming iPhone SE would look similar to the existing iPhone SE, which is actually based on the iPhone 8. The new iPhone SE 5G would have upgrades internally and will have a new chip along with 5G connectivity.
Apart from that the company is also reportedly working on the new Apple Silicon Macs that includes a new Mac Pro, new Mac Book Air and others. However, one has to wait and watch if the above products that are mentioned would make it to the March/April 2022 event. Gurman has also speculated that the second event of Apple in 2022 would be held in June that would be a WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference). The Cupertino based company during the WWDC is expected to show off the iOS 16 (Sydney), mac OS 13 (Rome), tv OS 16 (Paris) and the watch OS 9 (Kincaid). But still there are no updates as to what new features would be included.
Some are also speculating that this year’s WWDC would be held in-person. But Gurman has speculated that this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference would he held virtual for the third year in the row. With omicron being unpredictable and highly contagious, it cannot be said what lies in future.
