Twitter likely to add exclusive Podcast feature

Twitter has constantly worked hard to bring changes that would help to improve the user experience and also keep up with the competitors. In a recent development, it seems like the micro blogging site is creating a tab that would be dedicated to podcasts. Podcasts are episodes and seasons in the form of digital audio files. The hint came from a screen shot that was shared by reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong. The screen shot has shown a microphone icon at the bottom of the Twitter app and it seems like it leads to a page with the title ‘Podcasts’.

For now the platform has Spaces which is a platform that allows the users to have live audio conversations. The screen shot that has surfaced has not shown about how the podcasts would be displayed or it will also be including Spaces to it. For now Spaces is the similar feature and it currently at the top of the Twitter feeds. If Podcasts launches, it would be a good idea to give them a separate tab. Twitter entered the audio platform when it launched Spaces in 2020. But it did not stop there and went on acquiring social podcast platform Breaker.

The Spaces is a platform that allows the users to create chat rooms and allows all the mobile users to record the conversations. This means that the Recorded Spaces are quite similar to Podcasts, but they are temporary ones and last for just 30 days. There are also possibilities that the Twitter version of Podcasts could be similar to the Apple Podcasts and Spotify and that would mean that the users would be able to select and listen in leisure. There would not nay any rush to catch a live Space broadcast or listen to the recordings before the time is out.

Social platforms are now looking forward to add more features as it would help them to draw more revenue. Twitter is also joining the bandwagon by extending its arm to support Podcasts.
