New pair of in-ear headphones have been designed by researchers in Munich, which offer performance tracking through in-built health and body sensors. The new device has been named the Dash, it does not have any wires and is providing a pair of discrete earbuds which can work with a connected smartphone.
The device features passive voice cancellation, pass-through audio transparency when required and an ear bone transduction microphone. Other features include 4 GB of internal storage for loading up tunes directly. The Dash can be a perfect device for athletes or active users who want to get rid of all the cables.
The Dash also features an earbone mic which completely eliminates background interference. The device acts like a real activity tracker with a built-in heart rate, as well as oxygen saturation and energy-expenditure monitoring.
Even playback can be controlled by the on-device touch sensitive surface and the passive audio noise cancellation can be switched off to fully hear user’s surroundings, which can be easy if the user is running in the crowded city. The left bud helps to control activity monitoring, while the right one is able to manage audio controls, such as audio volume and playlist selection.
