Samsung Gear S3 gets a huge update with more improvements

Samsung

While the craze for smartwatches has already slowed down, Samsung has not forgotten about the left over market for the device. The South Korean giant is treating its customers with a new software update and has started rolling out the Tizen 4 to the Gear S3 Classic, Gear S3 Frontier and the Gear Sport Smartwatches. The new update has been introduced with the version number R760XXU2DSA1/R760OXA2DSA1 for the Gear S3 and R600XXU1BSA1/R600OXA1BSA1/ for the Gear Sport.

It can be noticed that the software update bumps in to the Tizen version on the watches to v4.0.0.2. It is rare on the part of Samsung to provide a software update. The company had earlier released an update a couple of months back to fix a sudden battery drain issue. A screen shot shared by the people at Tizen Help has mentioned that the update tips the scale to about 300 MB which is pretty huge for a wearable device with 4 gigs of internal storage space in total.

It will include support for various new indoor workouts and back-to-back workout in Samsung Health app. It will also give sleep stages information that can be viewed on the Health Widget and two of the advanced user models so that the users can easily avoid disturbances during a specific time and place. The smartwatches can be set to Theatre or Sleep modes from the Gear S3’s quick panel which has also improved with newly added quick settings that promises easier and faster interaction.

Moreover, replying to the messages from the wrist can be now quick and easy. More than 1,000 emojis are now supportive and also has the ability to save drafts. The settings menus has improvised categorizing for better discovery of items and features. The best part is that the Gear S3 users get a better phone-free control of the music playing on the smartwatch.
