Samsung launches its A8 as Galaxy A9 Pro in South Korea

It was reported last week that South Korean giant Samsung would be launching the Galaxy A8s in South Korea. Samsung made the launch official on January 25, 2019 and as expected the device is being called as the Galaxy A9 Pro in the home country of Samsung. The company had launched the Galaxy A8 in early December 2018 and it is the first smartphone with an Infinity –O display.

The company had earlier released it in China and is not bring it to South Korea. Similar to the Galaxy A8, the Galaxy A9 Pro features the 6.34 inch FHD + Infinity-O Display. It takes out the need for the notch by playing the front camera in a cut out in the actual display area. On its LCD display, it allows for a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. At the rear it has a triple camera system with a 24 megapixel primary sensor with a 10 megapixel telephoto lens which offers2X optical zoom.

The device also has a 5 megapixel depth sensor for the bokeh shots. For the best selfies, Samsung has included a 24 megapixel front camera. The company has powered the Galaxy A9 Pro with Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor for the Galaxy A8s and that it what the current handsets have. Samsung has also confirmed that it will ship with 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. All of it is packed with a huge battery of 3,400 mAh. Some of the additional features of the device include Bixby and a rear mounted fingerprint sensor like the Galaxy A8s and this does not have a 3.5 headphone jack.

The A9 Pro will be sold in Absolute Black, Black and Blue colors in South Korea and will be priced at 599,500 won. It has to be also noticed that it will not immediately go to the shelves and will be out by February 28, 2019.
