The second generation Oculus Quest has been launched by the social networking giant Facebook. The virtual reality headset will have high quality visuals and the best part is that the price of the new Oculus will be significantly lower that it was predicted. When the first Oculus was released, the firm was not able to meet the demands in some of the recent months. The new product has been launched about 16 months after the first Quest was launched.

The new device will allow the users to walk around with freedom in a limited space and explore around the virtual world and they will be no need to have a separate external sensor. The new model has a high resolution and is likely to execute almost 2K per eye. Facebook has also said that it 50 percent more pixels than before and have been arranged in such a manner that every pixel will be less apparent. The firm has also assured that this time the text will be more easy to read. The only thing that they have gone back is from OLED to LED screen which means that the black areas will be less deep than before and might even affect the contrast effect.

Some other improvements include a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor than can handle higher resolutions with 360 degree videos as well along with more complex graphics. It has a lighter body, with straps that have been redesigned to allow the user to be comfortable in and also has a longer battery life.

While talking about the price Facebook has kept the entry level price of the 64 gigabytes of storage device at £299 instead of £399. While another version will be priced at £399 and will have a storage capacity of 256 GB. The device could attract the gamers who could be contemplating the launches of the upcoming PlayStation and the Xbox consoles.
