Apple acknowledges a security flaw that can affect all iPhones in the globe

Cupertino based tech giant Apple is currently dealing with a big security hole that is related to its operating system iOS. The company has acknowledged a big security loophole which can affect almost every iPhone across the globe. The news started off when a security firm had claimed that all the iPhones running on a version of iOS 6 or newer can be attacked remotely. After the news came out it was acknowledged by Apple. Now that everyone knows that the problem is genuine, the vulnerability is seen in the iOS Mail app and the hacker can remotely attack an iPhone and can gain control on their inbox.

The security firm added that the attacks can happen in the knowledge of the iPhone user and the more worrying thing is that this has been happening for more than two years. The first attack was reportedly detected in January 2018. Another detail that has been given out by the security firm is that the hackers can operate easily on the iOS 13 than any of the previous generations of iOS. On this, the firm has given an instance like with an iOS device, the hacker needs the iPhone user to open a mail which is malicious but with the iOS 13 this can be easy for the hacker as no assistance is needed and can be done by just opening the Mail app at the background.

But rest assured that Apple has not just acknowledged the problem but has also patched the vulnerability with the iOS 13.4.5 beta and the company is likely to accelerate the release. Till the patch is released, the security firm has suggested that there are two ways to be protected – one is by disabling the Mail app or use a third party app. But questions were also raised on Outlook and Gmail but it was found that both of them were not vulnerable.

This is surely a threat that a serious threat is running on about eight generations of the iPhone.
